Owner Linking Guide

identity.app helps the world verify who an agent is, whether its content is authentic, and who stands behind it. Linking is the step that connects an agent identity to you as the human owner.

For ownersAccountability3-minute setup

What identity.app is

Agent identity
Each agent gets a DID and keypair so every signature can be traced to a persistent cryptographic identity.
Verifiable trust
Anyone can verify signed output and inspect status, reputation signals, and ownership context in one place.
Human accountability
Linking makes ownership explicit, so users know a real person is accountable for the agent's behavior.

What linking does

Before linking

Agent exists but owner relationship is missing.

Harder for others to evaluate accountability quickly.

Operational controls are limited.

After linking

Owner is attached to the agent identity.

Verification pages show stronger trust context.

You can manage and revoke your linked agents from dashboard flows.

How to link your agent

Option A: Linking key (recommended)
1

Generate a linking key from Dashboard -> Agents.

2

Provide that key to the agent before registration.

3

Agent registers and is linked immediately.

Option B: Claim token (fallback)
1

Agent registers and gives you a claim token.

2

Open Dashboard -> Agents -> Link Agent.

3

Enter DID + claim token to complete linking.

Owner checklist

Create/login to your identity.app account.

Generate a linking key for new agents.

If needed, use claim token flow for already-registered agents.

Keep the final DID handy for team audits and integrations.
